Knicks extend Thibs’ coaching contract for another 3 years

The New York Knicks franchise and head coach Tom Thibodeau have reached an agreement to sign a three-year contract extension through the end of the 2027-28 season.

ESPN reports that the two-time Head Coach of the Year has led the Reds to the Eastern Conference playoffs for the second consecutive year since taking over at Madison Square Garden in the 2020-21 season. 

It’s been a busy off-season for New York City executives, as they not only signed a new contract for their head coach, but also signed star guard Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $156.5 million deal and signed forward OG Anunoby to a five-year, $212.5 million deal. 

They also made a three-way trade to bring forward Michael Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, trade guard Bojan Bogdanovic, guard Sheik Milton and a bunch of first-round draft picks to the Houston Rockets.
